Charger came to us in December of 2022. He was one of Rhonda’s hoof trim clients for many years and his amazing owner was worried about his condition going into winter. In 2018 Charger had a terrible flare up of laminitis and his owner was unable to find anyone willing to travel all the way to where they lived to trim him. She contacted us and Rhonda ended up saving his life so when his owner voiced her concern and asked us if we’d be willing to bring him to the sanctuary to manage his medical needs we jumped at the chance. He lives with a few of the other littles that can’t be on grass and has developed a deep bond with Mitch who is blind. He takes his job as Mitch’s eyes very seriously and you never see them far apart. He’s an old boy but enjoys running and playing with his buddies.
