What is a sanctuary?

A sanctuary is a place that takes in animals and gives them a lifelong home. Animals are acquired in different ways. They are surrendered to the sanctuary because of medical or behavioural issues, they are surrendered to the sanctuary by animal groups following seizures due to abuse or neglect, and sometimes they are surrendered to the sanctuary by their owners who are no longer able to care for them.

What is a rescue?

A rescue is a place that takes in animals in order to rehome them. Animals are acquired through auctions, sales, surrenders or from animal groups following seizures due to abuse and neglect.

Why are we a sanctuary?

We take in those who are no longer rehomeable. As such we decided to be a sanctuary as opposed to a rescue. If we were to rehome some of the littles we would have control over their first home away from us but not after that and would not be assured they wouldn’t go back into a bad situation or end up at market.
